All patients at Ladybarn Group Practice have a named GP who has overall responsibility for their care. If you would like to find out which GP this is, or to request a specific GP, please contact the surgery on 0161 448 4500.

Doctors

Dr Helen Burgess (f)

Dr Helen Burgess graduated from Dundee Medical School and has been a partner at Ladybarn since 1988. She has a special interest in prescribing and has been GP Clinical lead for Medicines Optimisation for south Manchester and is Chair of Greater Manchester Medicines Group.

Dr Jullien Walkley (m)

Dr Jullien Walkley qualified in medicine in 1984 from Manchester University. Junior jobs took him to Derby where he met his wife, Jo. They married in 1987 and have three children. He joined Ladybarn Group Practice in 1992 and has been here ever since. He have special interests in treatment of people with drug and alcohol problems, Ear, Nose & Throat illnesses and he does the minor surgery at Ladybarn.

Dr David Adams-Strump (m)

Dr Adams-Strump qualified from Manchester University in 2004. He completed his Gp training in Salford before joining Ladybarn Group Practice as a Partner in 2010.
He has an interest in paediatrics and helps run the baby clinic.
Dr Adams-Strump is also responsible for mentoring 2nd year foundation doctors and medical students at the practice.

Dr Clare Murray-Brown (f)
Dr Clare Murray-Brown qualified from Bristol University in 2001. She completed her GP training in Plymouth before moving back to Manchester.
She has a special interest in family planning, and runs our coil and implant service.
Dr Yasmin Hoosen (f)
Dr Hoosen graduated from Manchester University and remained in Manchester throughout her training period. she has a special interest in Diabetes and is running the Diabetic clinic. Dr Hoosen is bilingual, with her second language being Urdu.
Dr Susan Phoenix (f)

Dr Susan Phoenix qualified from Manchester University in 2009 and completed her foundation and GP training in South Manchester. She has an interest in family planning and is able to fit contraceptive coils and implants.

Dr James Anderson (m)

Dr James Anderson graduated from Manchester Medical School in 2010. After foundation training he spent a year working in New Zealand in Rural General Practice. He then completed his GP training in Manchester in 2016 and took up employment with the Ladybarn Group Practice that same year. He is currently developing an interest in medical education working closely with Dr Adams-Strump and the medical students
