Cost of Living Support and Activities for Summer Holidays 2026
The summer holidays can be an expensive time for families, trying to keep the children entertained and staying on top of the extra food they go through. Get on top of your finances this summer and keep the children entertained with the below information:
This summer the Manchester Citizens Advice Van will be popping up to offer welfare, debt and energy advice at various community events across the neighbourhood including:
Ladybarn Community Hub on Friday 14th August 10am-3pm. This will be running alongside the Green Summer Fair Event organised by Ladybarn Community Hub.
Old Moat Lane on Tuesday 25th August 11am-2pm. This will be running alongside the Southways Family Funday organised by Southway Housing.
Easthope Close on Monday 3rd August 11am-2:30pm. This will be running alongside the Active Streets Event organised by Manchester City Council.
Publicity for the van’s location are attached along with event posters for Ladybarn Hub’s Green Fair and the Southways Family Funday. All welcome!
Ongoing Support – Free Legal Advice Clinics
Greater Manchester Law Centre is now offering free legal advice clinics for people living in this neighbourhood. Clinics take place at Ladybarn Community Hub and Old Moat Sure Start Centre. This offer includes hands on support to make sure you are getting all the benefits you are entitled to. For more information and to book an appointment see the attached poster.
HAF Activities
Manchester City Council is offering thousands of FREE places for children’s activities over the school holidays. In addition to the activities, each place booked will include a FREE meal during the day.

Parktastic Days
Oldmoat Youth Outreach Project and Unity Arts have joined up with a range of youth providers to bring a series of free fun summer park sessions with meals served at 4pm. Suitable for children up to the age of 16, Under 8’s must be accompanied with adults. See poster for more information.
