Greater Manchester Walking Festival 2024

Dear Manchester Walking Champions,

GM Walking Festival 2024:  please add your walks!

MCRactive is teaming up with GM Moving to promote the Greater Manchester Walking Festival 2024, which takes place 1st-31st May.   The festival celebrates the joys and many benefits of walking and wheeling – including for people’s health and wellbeing.

We would love your fantastic walks to be included in the festival! 

This is an opportunity to promote your regular walks, trial a new walk or to get creative and put on something new and different!  How about a family adventure or community walk; a workplace or school walk; an arts or history walk or a social ‘walk and talk’?  The only limit is your imagination!

Last year we over 50 fantastic Manchester-based walks from over 30 organisations!

Walk submission deadline: Friday 22nd March 2024.

Walking Festival Funding:

To support festival walks and sustainability, GM Walking are offering small grants of up to £100.  Application Deadline: Friday 16th Feb 2024.  Please note funding will be prioritised to groups who have not been funded before and one or both of the focus groups: women and girls and people with long term health conditions, including mental health.  There are Zoom webinars to support applicants: Friday 2nd February 12.30pm or Monday 12th February 5.30pm.
