Patient participation group

Our patient participation group is a group of patients and carers who help us improve the surgery. They tell us what patients need, raise concerns and challenge us when we could do better.

The group's mission statement

Information:

To improve the health, well-being and lives of our registered patients.

This is the patient participation group's own statement. The practice has its own mission and values.

What the group does

  • gathers patients' views on our services
  • reviews feedback with our staff to find things we can improve
  • gives us a patient's view on changes we are planning
  • helps explain our decisions to other patients

The surgery makes the final decision on how services run. The group has a noticeboard in the waiting room with its latest news.

Who can join

Anyone registered with the surgery can join. Carers of our patients can join too, even if they are not registered with us.

Members join for 3 years. After that, we give other patients a chance to take part, so we hear from a wider range of people. If you leave the surgery, you leave the group.

Join our patient participation group (opens Microsoft Forms). You can also ask at reception.

Meetings

The group meets at least 3 times a year, upstairs at the surgery, usually on the third Thursday of the month at 2pm. Meetings last about 90 minutes. At least 3 members of our staff attend.

We send members the agenda before each meeting. You can suggest an item up to a week before.

Meeting minutes

We publish the minutes of each meeting here.
