Manage your health online

You can do many things online, at any time, without calling us. Use the NHS App for most things, and our online form to ask us for help.

What you can do in the NHS App

Get the NHS App

You can use the NHS App if you are 13 or over and registered with a GP surgery in England.

When you set it up, you will create an NHS login and prove who you are, usually with photo ID such as a passport or driving licence. Find out how to set up the NHS App (opens the NHS website).

Ask us for help online

Use our online form to request an appointment, get a sick note or ask us a question. It is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6:30pm.

Your health record online

In the NHS App you can see new information added to your health record, such as test results, letters and notes from your appointments. You might see some information before a doctor has talked to you about it.

If you do not want to see your record online, or there is something you are worried about seeing, tell us.

Help getting online

  • Get help using the NHS App (opens the NHS website)
  • Your NHS number is in the NHS App and on any NHS letter, such as a prescription or appointment letter. We can also tell you. Find your NHS number (opens the NHS website)
  • If you cannot afford a phone or mobile data, you may be able to get a free SIM card with data or a device through the Good Things Foundation (opens the Good Things Foundation website)
  • Withington Assist runs a weekly digital drop-in for people aged 65 and over: call 0161 434 9216

Keep your account safe

Do not share your NHS login details with anyone. If you want someone to help with your health care online, they can ask for their own access instead.
